Re: Furmi (GT300)
Knock SemiAccurate all you want for stories that don't pan out, but they've had a pretty good grasp of the GT300 progress so far...
...and it still doesn't look good: http://www.semiaccurate.com/2009/11/...clock-targets/

Re: Furmi (GT300)
I guess I'll spend this $500 on something else. However, I keep picking at it and it's getting smaller.

Re: Furmi (GT300)
I'm getting ready for a new graphics card....just sold my first 4870x2. Gotta get that shipped out and find a new card before selling the second one.

They sure are....I see them selling on eBay for upwards of $450. That's crazy. NewEgg has one listed in stock, but as soon as you add it to your cart, it gets removed.

I noticed that also. When you go to view your cart, it's gone.

Re: Furmi (GT300)
Is it just me or is NVIDIA facing the same issues AMD did?
AMD had the top CPU during the P4/PD-era (IMO at least, but not market share wise), but once Core 2 Duo came out, AMD was left there with it's pants down, clueless of what to do.
Seems to me that AMD/ATI has seriously stepped up their game since the HD3000 series, and now NVIDIA is facing the consequences of re-branding their cores for so many years. Now NVIDIA is forced to make major changes to try and be competitive, which I still simply cannot see happening. They may have the fastest card, but I don't think it'll be price competitive.

What i really am impressed with is the fact that the Current design is still based on the last architecture change. The X8xx Series was one design, then the jump to the Shader unit architecture on the X1xxx Series that was clear it was a good design. Then the 2900 Surfaced. Now that was a bit of a experiment when i look back, however they did improve it alot for the 3xxx shortly after, then the 4xxx Really improved performance significantly and then they have done it again on the 5xxx Series. Thats 4 Generations from the same architecture principles whith changing bits here and there. Theres been masses of performance squeezed out when you look at the 2900 compaired to the 5870.
I'm very interested in how AMD/ATI's new Core architecture will shape up next year in what? 8-9 Months time now? 3 Quarters ish?
